Daddy Time

We love Daddy so much and don't get to play with him all week because he's hard at work so today we took FULL advantage of "Daddy Time." We played soccer outside, watched Tinkerbell the movie and ate all sorts of junk food. Perfect Daddy day! Mommy just sat back and watched with a smirk on her face as Daddy tried to tame Sis and I as we brawled over dolls, balls and cheese puffs. Happy Saturday!

A Little Piece of Utopia

So, Stell and I had quite the weekend. We had dinner last night at our respective BFFs' house (Lily & Annabel) and then woke up the next day only to find out that we were heading to Funderland for the day. I mean, really. It was so amazing. Lots of questionable characters parading about with their 5+ children, but the rides were serious fun. Granted, some of the rides looked a bit "broke" and warranted massive face lifts, but nothin' a little super glue and a sturdy seat belt (ie. bungy cord looking thing) couldn't take care of for a quick trip. Thank goodness for cheap and quick insta-fun. Mommy and Daddy likey.

Love, Violeta :) xoxo

Slamson and Fast Break

SO, M&D took me (minus Sissy) to the Sacramento Kings/Indiana Pacers game last night. Sure, it was bordering on negligent parenting, considering the hour the game started (7pm) and the fact that Daddy let me eat an entire hot dog, but something every kid needs to experience, right?! My fave part, as if you couldn't have guessed, was "Slamson's" entrance onto the court (albeit a bit cheesy and hard to watch) and the classy and provocative dance moves of none other than "Fast Break" the Kings' notoriously bad cheerleading squad. I danced right along with them and told Mommy, "I can see their belly buttons!" Mommy quipped, "Don't look too closely, my dear." All in all, a fabulous evening with the 'rents. Here are some pics of my second ever Kings game at Arco Arena. Go Kings!

Mahalo and all that jazz

Sis and I picked up on some new words while gallavanting around the beautiful island of Maui... Aloha, Mahalo, Humuhumu, etc. It was quite the vaca this go around. Both Violet and I were able to swim in the baby pool and take turns being dunked by M&D. This was Daddy's firm's annual partners retreat and lucky Mommy, me and sis get to attend. :) We swam, ate, swam, ate and then napped for extended periods of time... thank goodness says Mommy. Here are some pics from our stay. The hotel was the Fairmont in Kea Lani. Amazing.

Rainy Days

Mom has found that on rainy days, S & I do better if we have LOADS of activities. Art projects, new books, cardboard boxes to decorate, you name it... being the Type A, borderline OCD patient that she is, Mommy has also taken to teaching us how to organize and clean by making up ridiculous songs and clapping any time we put something away. Desperation, folks.

Don't worry, Mommy's efforts have not been fruitless. Although Stella isn't fond of the cleaning per se, she and I have found a particular interest in organizing and reorganizing and find the perfect outlet for such activity is our jam-packed playroom. Here's a shot of us "reorganizing" our castle Grammy got us. We fought over where Cinderella and Aurora should go as we organized the toy room and then decided the toy kitchen oven was a nice place. So our newly discovered "organization skills" aren't exactly what Mommy had in mind, but we're learning ;)...

ObamaNation

M&D were lucky enough to party among the stars at the Inauguration of the 44th President, Barack Obama. Within minutes of arriving, Mommy sat in a room, maybe 20 feet from the President while he gave an honorary toast to Senator John McCain. Mommy & Daddy wanted to be certain that Violet and I could see history through the many pictures they took... and of course, tons and tons of Obama Inaugural paraphernalia. We are so blessed to be a part of such a proud country right now. Go O!!!

"Lake Taco"

Or, so my mommy and her brothers like to call it. Back in the day, "Lake Taco" created many a fond memory for the Gonsalves clan. Now, the Kinneys and Gonsalves' have combined their traditions, creating the all-time "Lake Taco" New Year's week party of the year. Here are some shots from our sledding, house-bound, blizzard-filled week. Happy new year! Vio and I have a feeling 2009 will be a wonderful year!
